I bought this item knowing that I'd have issues with the star staying upright, and the ornaments falling off. I put cone-shaped party hat underneath the star and it stayed upright perfectly for hours, and sewed a couple stitches to ensure the ornaments stayed on long-term since I knew the glue wouldn't last. Between those two simple steps, I can imagine getting a lot of mileage out of this product and it was a great deal. I'm petite, and 5'2", and this was way less bulky than any adult-sized costume. A small fanny pack fits perfectly underneath so that a purse isn't weighing it down at odd angles.
