Originally I got the rust color years ago, I think from an actual American Apparel (when they had physical stores). Fell in love, bought the lieutenant color, and then most recently (from this product page on Amazon) got the purple. I notice no variation in quality. The colors on all these are gorgeous. The purple is STUNNING, and somehow very calming to look at. It almost burns my eyes but...in a peaceful way. Haha. I don't even know how they got a color that rich on a shirt. Honestly. I think my favorite thing about all the shirts is their ability to be heavy and cozy and yet very breathable and cooling. Not sure how it works. This is why it makes the perfect night shirt/dress for me in the winter. Oh I forgot to mention that I originally got the first two for my husband (he's 6'3", 220 pounds, and the large perfectly great on him, not too loose, not tight) but since I was always stealing his, I got the purple for myself. I'm 5'5", 190 pounds, and the large fits long and loose, which is what I love. I think I'm going to get the pink one now...Good weight but fits really big. Medium was more like a large!Material feels decent quality - heavy cotton. These aren't all 100% cotton, but that's OK. They give a nice, sculpted look towards the chest+shoulder area.
