I used to get a lot of my basics from AA stores. They've all held up very well over the years due to their obviously superior fabrics and construction (I'm looking at you J Crew) and I love your slimmer cuts, still standard in the rest of the world. It's way harder than it should be to find clothes in the US that don't make healthy figures swim. I miss your previous much wider selection, especially the more interesting colors you used to offer for your baby thermals -- those are great paired with a complementary t-shirt underneath, and I wish you'd offer some standard-sized long-sleeves and henleys that aren't "classic" (re-named hefty) cut. Until then I'm happily stocking up on more basic t-shirts in nice colors now that I can find them again. J Crew was my other go to but their quality has plummeted even as their prices have become ridiculously out of reach.I bought six of these shirts. Two shipped from Amazon, and the rest shipped from "shopblueco". All six appear to be legitimate American Apparel "2001" shirts, and all six have tags. They fit exactly like the American Apparel 2001 shirts that I've had for years.Speaking of which, AA has, by far, the most consistent fit of any t-shirts I've bought in decades, these shirts fit exactly the same as the shirt I have from around 2006. Compare that to the tees I've bought from Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Mossimo, and Eddie Bauer, where every order -- and even different shirts within the same order -- have fit differently! American Apparel's quality control seems to be the best in the business. I assume this is because other brands don't actually manufacture anything, and they switch suppliers constantly, whereas AA has complete control of the entire manufacturing process. As always, remember that AA tees run more snug than most brands. However, they're probably the longest standard size tees I've found. At 6'2" 190 Lbs, a size large is *just* long enough. If you have not already heard, American Apparel is no more; what is available in stores and here on Amazon is it; so stock up! American Apparel 2001 t-shirts are colourful, soft and they last a long time all whilst holding their shape. I just purchased Kelly Green, Army and Lieutenant. Kelly Green and Army look exactly like the picture; however, my lieutenant is a lot darker than I expected. No worries, still a good colour. You will be missed, American Apparel!First of all, these shirts are not made in the USA, at least not the ones I got. I realize the description says "made in the USA or imported" but if you look at the questions section everyone is saying they're made in the US. I'm guessing they used to be, but they aren't anymore. Gildan now owns AA and it even says Gildan on the label. My shirts were made in Honduras. But really the main issue I have is the size. I bought these because I'm tall and thin and I love how AA shirts fit. These shirts are WAY BIGGER than the old ones. I attached a picture showing my old AA size large made in the US next to this new one, also size large, made in Honduras so you can see just how much bigger this shirt is. It's huge.I'm very disappointed. Will update this review if the shirts shrink in the wash, but I'm doubtful they'll shrink that much. Too bad to see American Apparel quality go down the drain with the new owners. The shirt is fine. The color is definitely not as pictured. It’s more of a royal blue. The material is just fine, but the size large it seems some what like x/largeThe American Apparel brand are my favorite t-shirts on the market, especially when looking for something other than white to wear as an undershirt. These fit snugly and hold up well to washings. This creme color was a bit darker than the ivory I have purchased before, but still quite nice.American Apparel makes the best t-shirts hands down. I love the tri-blend, I love the all cotton and I love the 50/50. I wear a Large in all blends and it's consistent. They last a long time and I've even worn them under suit jackets. Great product all around.Toooooooo loooooong. This is my new uniform. In the search for my beloved American Apparel of old, I stumbled across this. This shirt is NOT what you’re looking for. Different fit, different feel, and none of it good. Feels like a generic Walmart tee. It’s shapeless and the collar is saggy. After buying this I found out about L.A. Apparel, and that is where you need to look if you want that classic style and fit.Perfect basic tHappy customer
